New Delhi, August 27, 2025: The Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies and Research (HILSR), Jamia Hamdard, in collaboration with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), organized Aarambh 2025—a two-day Youth Parliament held at Convention Centre, Jamia Hamdard. The programme was conceived to familiarize students with parliamentary functioning and to cultivate values of democratic leadership among youth.

Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies and Research (HILSR), Jamia Hamdard signed MoU with Insolvency Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) on 24th May 2023. The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard and Shri Santosh Kumar Shukla, Executive Director, IBBI in the presence of Deans of various schools of Jamia Hamdard, Finance Officer, Jamia Hamdard and Shri Shiv Anant Shankar, Chief General Manager, Ms. Namisha Singh, Manager, IBBI.

Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies and Research (HILSR), School of Law, Jamia Hamdard under the guidance of Prof (Dr.) Saleena K Basheer, organised an Induction Ceremony for the BA LLB and LLM batches of 2022 on 2nd Nov 2022, onwards in Hall-I, Convention Center. We were delighted to have the presence of Shri Rakesh Mohan, as the Chief Guest and Shri Mukesh Meena as the Guest of Honor.

Lecture Series on Law and Society

HILSR, School of Law organised an interactive session on the topic "Feminist Jurisprudence" on 27th May 2022 under it's Lecture Series on Law and Society. The speaker for this session was Prof. Rukmini Sen, who is a renowned feminist scholar and currently a professor at the School of Liberal Studies, Director, Centre for Publishing and Dean, School of Heritage Research and Management at Dr. B R Ambedkar University Delhi.

HILSR succesfully conducted its third session of Induction lecture series 2025 on theme "Law, Language, and Power: The Politics of English in Postcolonial India’s Multilingual Legal and Social Structures" on September 12, 2025. The lecture was delivered by our esteemed Guest Speaker - Ms. Hiba Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Ashoka University. Ms. Ahmed has also served as a Fullbright Teaching Assistant at Yale University, USA where she gained significant cross-cultural and international academic experience.
