About our Law School

Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies & Research (HILSR) established in 2018 with the approval of the Bar Council of India (BCI), offers a comprehensive five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in legal education. Building on this foundation, HILSR introduced new academic programs in the 2022-2023 session, including LL.M. degrees with specializations in Constitutional Law and Commercial Law, as well as a Ph.D. program in Law. These additions reflect the institution's commitment to broadening its academic horizons and providing advanced legal education.

Since its inception, HILSR has made remarkable progress, thanks to a faculty composed of distinguished professionals with diverse knowledge and experience from some of the most renowned institutions. The faculty’s expertise ensures that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for the complexities of the legal profession.

HILSR is dedicated to delivering quality education through innovative pedagogy and a global outlook. The institution is well-equipped with modern infrastructure, including state-of-the-art facilities such as an online library, smart classrooms, a computer lab, and a moot court to enhance the learning experience. In line with its mission to promote social justice and access to legal services, HILSR established the HILSR Pro Bono Club in 2023 under the aegis of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice (Govt. of India). This initiative underscores the institute’s dedication to nurturing a sense of responsibility and service among its students.

Additionally, HILSR has set up a Legal Aid Clinic and a Legal Literacy Club in collaboration with the Delhi Legal Services Authority, aimed at providing legal assistance to the underprivileged and raising awareness about legal rights and responsibilities. These initiatives are a testament to HILSR’s commitment to integrating social welfare with legal education.

To foster holistic development, HILSR offers students a variety of opportunities to engage in both academic and extracurricular activities through clubs such as the Readers’ Club, Debate Club, and Constitutional Club. These platforms enable students to explore new avenues, sharpen their skills, and prepare for leadership roles in the legal profession.
