Selection procedure
|
For admission to M.Sc. programme in Biochemistry
programme, a written Entrance Test will be conducted to test the
knowledge of the candidates in general Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry
and Molecular Biology of B.Sc. level. The selection will be made
on the basis of merit determined by the performance of the candidate
in written test only.

to M.Sc. programme in Environmental Botany must have: |

university with Botany/Plant Sciences as one of the subjects securing

Selection procedure |
For admission to M.Sc. programme in Environmental
Botany, a written Entrance Test will be conducted to test the knowledge
of the candidates in the entire Botany of B.Sc. standard with special
emphasis on environment, eco-physiology, plant growth, biotechnology
and medicinal plants. The selection will be made on the basis of
the merit determined by the performance of the candidate in the
written test only.

A candidate seeking admission
to M.Sc. programme in Toxicology must have: |
(a) obtained bachelor’s degree
recognized by Jamia Hamdard with any three of the following
subjects: Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology,
Microbiology, Environmental Biology or a subject of Life Sciences
and have secured at least 55% marks in the aggregate. Candidates who
have studied biology at 10+2 level and have B.Pharm/B.V.Sc./B.Sc.
(Ag.) degree are also be eligible to apply. The minimum required
percentage will be 55% in aggregate.

For admission to M.Sc. programme in Chemistry (Industrial
Applications), a written Entrance Test will be conducted to test
the knowledge of the candidates in all the aspects of Chemistry
(Physical, Inorganic or organic and Analytical). The selection will
be made on the merit determined by the performance of the candidates
in the written test only

Ph.D. program
in Faculty of Science:

Eligibility
The Faculty offers Ph.D. in
Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Botany and Toxicology.
Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme in the Faculty
should have passed M.Sc. in the relevant subject securing at least
55% marks in the aggregate. Departments of Biotechnology and Medical
Elementology and Toxicology accept candidates to Ph.D. programme who
possess M.Sc. degree in Chemistry or any subject of Biological
Sciences.
Some fellowships sponsored by
HNF are available for award to deserving candidates. Some candidates
can be supported by appointing them as Junior Research Fellows in
research projects sponsored by various funding agencies of the
Government of India. Preference is given to those candidates who
have qualified UGC-CSIR NET or the test conducted by ICMR. Students
desirous of seeking admission to Ph.D. programme of the Faculty may
see the areas in which research is conducted in the departments on
the university website.
Selection Procedure
Admission to Ph. D. programme
is made on the basis of written Entrance Test followed by viva voce
of the short-listed candidates. The test paper is based on the M.
Sc. syllabus of the respective subject of Jamia Hamdard.
The Written Test for admission
to Ph. D. will be conducted at Delhi centre only.
