MASTERS' COURSE IN PHARMACY:-

M. Pharm. Course is offered in:

Duration : Four semesters .
Total Seats :

12 in each of Pharmaceutics and
Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
10 each in Pharmacology and
Pharmacognosy & Phytochem.
08 in each of Pharmacy Practice
and Quality Assurance
05 in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
(Inclusive of seats reserved for NRI/Industry sponsored candidates. Additional seats are available for foreign nationals ).

Eligibility
A candidate seeking admission to M.Pharm. programme must have:

(a) passed B. Pharm./ B.Pharm (Unani) examination from Jamia Hamdard or any other examination recognized by Jamia Hamdard as equivalent thereto, securing at least 55% marks in the aggregate of theory papers of B. Pharm/B.Pharm (Unani) or any other equivalent examination.

(b) qualified GATE.

Non GATE candidates may be eligible for admission to NRI/Industry sponsores category if GATE Qualified candidates are not available .

Selection procedure

The applicants for admission to the M.Pharm programme shall have to appear in the written entrance test . The test paper will comprise of questions based on B.Pharm. syllabus of Jamia Hamdard .
The selection will be made on the basis of the merit prepared by apportioning the following weightage

(a) Weightage of percentile scored at GATE - 70%
(b) Weightage for qualifying examination based on aggregate marks of theory papers of B.Pharm. /B.Pharm(Unani) - 30%

BACHELOR’S COURSE IN PHARMACY
B.Pharm. Regular and SFS (Click here for detailed syllabus and Admission Rules)
Duration : Four years
Total Seats : 60

The breakup of the seats is as follows :
Under Normal fee : 25
Under SFS : 25
NRI/Sponsored : 10
Additional seats are available for foreign nationals .
Eligibility

A candidate seeking admission to B. Pharm. programme must have:
 

(a) passed Senior Secondary (12th Standard/Intermediate) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination recognized by Jamia Hamdard as equivalent thereto.

(b)  appeared in the AIEEE conducted by CBSE to be held on May 9, 2004 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology papers.
(c) appeared in the Central Counseling of CBSE for open seats. No central counseling is required for seats reserved for Muslims.
Selection procedure
  • For open seats, the admission will be made on the basis of the score of the candidates in AIEEE and Centralized Counseling of the CBSE. 

  • For seats reserved for Muslims, admission will be made on the basis of the merit prepared by Jamia Hamdard on the basis of the marks obtained by the applicants in AIEEE. Muslim candidates desirous of admission under reserved seats will also have to apply to Jamia Hamdard on the prescribed form. When the AIEEE result is declared, these candidates will have to submit attested copy of their score card to Jamia Hamdard. They should clearly write the admission application form no./roll no. of Jamia Hamdard on the back of the score card. Those who have used downloaded form should write the roll no. issued by Jamia Hamdard on the back of the score card. 

  • For open seats there is no need to apply to Jamia Hamdard. Admission for these seats will be done through Centralized Counseling of CBSE.

 

B.Pharm (Unani). Regular and SFS
Duration : Four years

Total Seats : 60

NRI/Sponsored : 10
Additional seats are available for foreign nationals

Medium of instructions of Unani Pharmacy courses is Urdu. The candidates must have knowledge of Urdu language comparable to secondary (10th) standard and aptitude for Unani system of medicine.

 

The aim and objective of this unique course are to produce Pharmacy Graduates with additional qualification in producing quality formulations of Unani medicines prescribed by Hakeems and validation and standardization of formulations using modern scientific techniques.

 

Eligibility
A candidate seeking admission to B. Pharm.(Unani) programme must have:
  1.  passed Senior Secondary (12th Standard/Intermediate) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination recognized by Jamia Hamdard as equivalent thereto.

  2. appeared in the AIEEE conducted by CBSE to be held on May 9, 2004 in Physics, Chemistry and Biology Papers.

  3. applied to Jamia Hamdard on its prescribed admission form.

  4. appeared in Urdu language test conducted by Jamia Hamdard

 
Selection procedure

                    The admission will be made on the basis of the score of the candidates in the AIEEE score in Urdu language test conducted by Jamia Hamdard.

                    The candidates desirous of admission in this programme will also have to apply to Jamia Hamdard on the prescribed form. When the AIEEE result is declared, these candidates will have to submit attested copy of their score card to Jamia Hamdard. They should clearly write the admission application form no./roll no. of Jamia Hamdard on the back of the score card. Those who have used downloaded form should write the roll no. issued by Jamia Hamdard on the back of the score card.

                    Jamia Hamdard will conduct a test of Urdu. Syllabus for Urdu test is given in the prospectus.

 

 

Admission to B.Pharm. II year for Diploma in Pharmacy holders

 

B.Pharm II year

Eligibility
A candidate seeking admission to B. Pharm. programme must have:

(a) passed 10+2 examination from the C.B.S.E. or any other examination recognized by Jamia Hamdard as equivalent thereto , with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and must have passed in each of these subjects .

(b) passed the Diploma in Pharmacy examination of Jamia hamdard or any other recognized institution with 50% marks in aggregate .

(c) not more than 25 years of age on October 1, 2003.
(d) appeared in the entrance test conducted by Jamia Hamdard .
 
Selection Procedure

For admission to B.Pharm II Year Programme , a written entrance test will be conducted only at Delhi . The question paper will comprise of questions from D.Pharm syllabus of Jamia Hamdard .The selection will be made on the basis of merit determined by the performance of the candidates in the written test only.


B.Pharm.(Unani) II year

Eligibility
A candidate seeking admission to B. Pharm.(Unani) programme must have:

Diploma Programmes in Pharmacy

 
DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY (D. PHARM.)

Duration : Two years

Total Seats : 30 (Inclusive of seats reserved for NRIs,Additional seats are available for foreign nationals )

 
Eligibility
A candidate seeking admission to D.Pharm. programme must have :

(a) passed Senior Secondary (12th Standard/Intermediate) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination recognized by Jamia Hamdard as equivalent thereto, securing at least 50% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

(b) appeared in the Entrance Test conducted by Jamia Hamdard.
For admission against NRI/ Sponsored seats ,written test is not required .

Selection procedure

The candidates seeking admission to D. Pharm. programme, shall have to appear in the Diploma Entrance Test (DET) . The test paper shall comprise of questions on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Awareness. The standard of questions will be that of qualifying examination i.e. Senior Secondary/Intermediate. The selection will be made on the basis of merit determined by the performance of the candidates in the written test only.

 
DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY (Unani)
D. PHARM. (Unani)
 
Duration : Two years
Total Seats : 30 (Inclusive of seats reserved for NRIs,Additional seats are available for foreign nationals )
Eligibility
A candidate seeking admission to D.Pharm.(Unani) programme must have :

(a) passed Senior Secondary (12th Standard/Intermediate) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination recognized by Jamia Hamdard as equivalent thereto, securing at least 50% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

(b) appeared in the Entrance Test conducted by Jamia Hamdard.
For admission against NRI/ Sponsored seats ,written test is not required .

Selection procedure

The candidates seeking admission to D. Pharm.(Unani) programme, shall have to appear in the Diploma Entrance Test (DET) . The test paper shall comprise of questions on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Awareness. The standard of questions will be that of qualifying examination i.e. Senior Secondary/Intermediate.In addition to the DET ,the applicants will have to appear in the test for Urdu language as per the schedule . The selection will be made on the basis of merit determined by the performance of the candidates in the DET and the Urdu test

DOCTORAL (PH. D.) PROGRAMME IN PHARMACY
 
The faculty offers Ph.D. programme in the following disciplines.

        Pharmaceutics

        Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry                     

        Pharmaceutical Chemistry

        Pharmacology

        Pharmaceutical Medicine 

Eligibility 

Candidates should have passed M. Pharm. from Jamia Hamdard or from any other institution recognized by AICTE and Jamia Hamdard in the relevant subject securing at least 55% marks in the aggregate.

Selection procedure

Admission to Ph. D. programme is made on the basis of the performance of the candidates in a written Entrance Test followed by viva voce of the short-listed candidates. The questions of the test paper are based on the M. Pharm. syllabus of the relevant discipline. 

Ph.D. Programme in Pharmaceutical Medicine 

Seats                           :            4 (one seat is reserved for Industry sponsored candidate) 

Eligibility 

Candidates should have passed M. Pharm. from Jamia Hamdard or from any other institution recognized by AICTE and Jamia Hamdard in Pharmacology/Hospital Pharmacy/Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmaceutics or M.B.B.S. degree from a recognized institution. Preference will be given to M.D./D.N.B. degree holders in Pharmacology/Medicine/Clinical Pharmacology). Candidates with M.Sc. degree in Pharmacology may also be considered. The required percentage is 55% in aggregate in the relevant subject.  

Selection procedure 

Admission to Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Medicine programme is made on the basis of the performance of the candidates in a written Entrance Test and/or viva voce of the short-listed candidates. 

The Written Test/interview, if conducted, for admission to Ph. D. will be at Delhi centre only.
