From the Vice Chancellor's desk

As the head of the institution, I am extremely honoured and privileged to carry forward the legacy of the Founder-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, Late Janab Hakeem Abdul Hameed Saheb, and working towards the realization of his vision, which encompasses empathy and altruism along with the development of education and health care systems for the positive reformation and upliftment of society, especially the underprivileged and weaker sections.

Being an internal Vice-Chancellor, I take immense pride in being a part of the exemplary journey of Jamia Hamdard, from its humble beginnings to establishing itself amongst the topmost educational institutes of higher education in India, excelling across a wide range of academic disciplines.

Jamia Hamdard has emerged as an institution of academic excellence with accreditation of the university by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with Grade ‘A’ in three consecutive cycles and also accreditated in the A+ category with a 3.41 score for the 4^th Cycle. As per the NIRF Survey of the Ministry of Education, we are ranked among the top 50 institutions in the country for the last many years. Our School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research is the Number One University in the country as per the Rankings of the NIRF Survey of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.  Six out of the nine NIRF Rankings, our Pharmacy School stood the number one position and the remaining three occasions we stood number two and three. Jamia Hamdard is also figured in Times Higher Education (THE) QS World University Rankings.

Working towards the globalization of education, we have made commendable strides on the international platform as well with noteworthy rankings in the Times Higher Education Young Universities Rankings, QS Rankings (Asian University Level) and QS World University Rankings by subject (Pharmacy & Pharmacology). I sincerely believe that this progressive institution has tremendous potential to achieve many more laurels in high-quality education and research of national and international levels.
