Alumni

The Alumni Association is registered as, “The Alumni Association of Jamia Hamdard” (TAAJH) under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in Distt. South-East, Government of NCT of Delhi. The TAAJH is located at Jamia Hamdard G/F, M.B. Road, Hamdard Nagar,  New Delhi-110062. The Registration Number of TAAJH is – S-E/1462/Distt. South East/2018.

The mission of the alumni is to consolidate the alumni base of Jamia Hamdard on official platform endorsed by the university. This would give the feeling of “belongingness” to the alumni and they would “feel connected” and would continue to take pride in our achievements and would do handholding where ever required. The platform would be constructively used with all good intentions to serve the ALMA MATER & HAMDARDIANS and is expected to fulfil  the  objectives. 

The aims and objectives of the alumni are given below:

-To act as a bridge between Jamia Hamdard and the industries/ organizations where the alumni (HAMDARDIANS) serve, for interaction on new developments in different disciplines of Health Sciences (Unani, Medical, Pharmacy and Nursing), Allied health fields (Physiotherapy/ Rehabilitation Sciences), Life Sciences, Information, Technology and Communication (IT) and Management and others.

-To provide a constructive, vivacious and vibrant ecosystem for fostering ties between the alumni and the alma mater and as well as amongst the alumni across the schools.

-To positively contribute and enforce the University’s mission and vision and help in taking the Alma mater to newer heights and be recognized among the global players in the field of academic, research, innovation and outreach.

-To help the alumni to take forward their professional aspirations and offer support for entrepreneurship programmes.

-To offer support to desirous students of different Schools for carrying forward their education in India and abroad.

-To facilitate and support the development of professional skills and enable the current crop of students of different schools as positive contributors to the society and Nation building.

-To contribute to the image building of the university in public domain and improve its perception with all positive outcomes.

-To assist the Schools to promote best practices in R & D activities, testing and consultancy and organize programmes on personality development, interview technique, (GDs/PIs) and leadership development in fields of education in health science.

-To encourage the students from this University by awarding prizes to meritorious students showing bright performance in the field of academics/scholastic, co-scholastics, sports, literary and cultural spheres.

-To enrich the School and central library by donating books and also by subscribing journals in the relevant fields.

 

The brochures, pamphlets and other advertising materials of various events and the programmes, courses conducted at Jamia Hamdard are published and circulated amongst the Alumni living in India and abroad through alumni portal and personal email id's.  

The Alumni also engaged in community service activities. The alumni  provides the financial assistance to students and weaker  section for their studies and in case of Medical emergencies. There are some Jamia Hamdard alumni funds at Jaddah, KSA and provided  scholarships to various students of Jamia Hamdard. Alumni also provides utensils, cloths and other items of daily need to people of weaker sections. In Covid time they provided medical assistance in the form of medicine, patient counselling, providing oxygen cylinders and other financial supports. They also helps in placement of Jamia Hamdard students e.g. different  organizations- Aimil Pharmaceuticals, Limra Remedies, Fermish Clinical Technology,  Arbro Pharmaceuticals, Sun Pharma, Wings Biotech, Fermentis Life Science, Haridwar Hills Food, Modi Mundi Pharma,  Patent Attornet,  The Senior Alumni also take part in Examinership, Evaluation and mentoring the students for higher studies in India & abroad and transition from academia to industry.

Jamia Hamdard also provide  some rooms for short stay of alumni from abroad at Scholar House in concessional rates.

Through the full-fledged alumni portal- alumni.jamiahamdard.ac.in, all events are communicated and  greetings are sent at various festivals such as  Holy, Eid, Dipawali,, Independance day, Republic day etc. Information are also sent regarding placement and career etc.

The distinguished alumni are also honoured for supporting in brand building exercise as well as overall development of the institution. They are honoured at annual alumni day and some other events of Jamia Hamdard, with citations and certificates. 

 

Governing body:  The governing body  contains President, Vice President, General Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer and  6 EC members.

 Minimum Meetings Required: Governing Body Meeting (GMB): 4 in a year, Alumni Meet cum General Meeting (GM): once in a year  

Web Portal of TAAJH: The web portal for TAAJH is  www.alumni.jamiahamdard.edu and it is linked with Jamia Hamdard website www.jamiahamdard.edu. The alumni of Jamia Hamdard can be registered here for becoming member of TAAJH.

 

Activities by TAAJH: A number of major activities have been organized by the Association and some of them are given below in brief:

 

• Alumni Meet was organized on 13 Sept., 2017 at Jamia Hamdard Campus and it was attended by about 532 alumni. Some eminent Alumni were also felicitated on this Alumni Day i.e.; Dr Arshad Khuroo (Associate vice President Sun Pharma), Dr Khalid Khan (Director cum CEO, Fermish Clinical Technologies Pvt. Ltd), Dr Abdul Kabeer Dar ( Secretary and DG Ayush, J&K), Dr Shipra Sharma ( Director Ports, Ministry of Shipping, Govt of India), Mr Mohd Khatib Arshi (Sr Manager, International Relations, Medanta) .      

• Alumni Meet was organized on 13 Sept., 2018 at Jamia Hamdard Campus and it was attended by about 612 alumni. Some eminent Alumni were also felicitated on this Alumni Day i.e. Prof Dharampal Pathak ( Director, DIPSAR) Mr Mohd Khursheed Ali Qadri ( Commissioner Asansole Municipal Corporation) Dr Waseemur Rahman ( IRS, Deputy Commissioner, Excise, Mumbai), Mr Gyan Prakash Ujalyan (Director Bion Healthcare), Mr Riad Kamel Abbas (Ambassador of Syria).

• Alumni Meet was organized on 13 Sept., 2019 at Jamia Hamdard Campus and it was attended by about 751 alumni. 

• Alumni Meet cum Webinar was organized virtually on 13 Sept., 2020 and it was attended by about 700 alumni.

• Syed Jalal Rehman, alumni of Jamia Hamdard delivered a lecture along with Dr. Moin Don (CEO and Founder PVCON Consulting Pvt. Ltd.)  On “Career Manthan” to students under the PharmaKon programme on 12 June, 2021, under the Aegis of TAAJH.

• Alumni Meet cum Inaugural Ceremony of Official Website of Alumni, Riyadh Chapter, KSA on Monday, 13 Sept., 2021. It was also attended virtually (https://zoom.us/j/96319330653, Meeting ID: 96319330653) by Office bearers of TAAJH.

• Jamia Hamdard Alumni Affair Committee meeting was held on 31^st Jan., 2022

• Alumni Meet of Overseas Alumni held on 30^th July 2022. Attended by more than 200 alumni.

• Alumni Meet and Golden Jublee Celebration of SPER, on 18^th  Jan, 2023

• Cricket Match of Alumni on 13th  January,2023, organized by “The Alumni Association of Jamia Hamdard (TAAJH)”. Venue: Cricket Ground, Jamia Hamdard.

• Meeting of alumni of TAAJH, Riyadh (KSA) Chapter on 8^th Aug., 2023, Different aspect discussed eg, research collaboration, financial assistance to students, contribution of funds etc.

• Formation of  UP chapter of  The Alumni Association of Jamia Hamdard (TAAJH) on 6^th Sept., 2023 (Approved by AC and EC of Jamia Hamdard also).

• Alumni Meet and Founder’s Day Celebrations ,  TAAJH, UP chapter, on 24^th Sept, 2023, Attended by more than 600 alumni of different streems

• Alumni Meet cum Friendly Cricket Match of Alumni on  24^th  Oct.,2023, in the memory of Late Janab Hakeem Abdul Hameed, organized by “The Alumni Association of Jamia Hamdard (TAAJH)”. Venue: Nawabagh Cricket Stadium , J & K.

• Annual Alumni Meet, TAAJH, School of Mgmt & Business Studies, Jamia Hamdard on 16 Dec., 2023 at Jamia Hamdard. Attended by more than 400 alumni of different stream eg mainly Management and computer Sciences.

• Alumni portal introduced-  ‘Jamia Hamdard Jobs Board” for job opportunity , 10^th Jan., 2024.

• Rx Champions Trophy 2024: One day Cricket Match of Alumni on 18-23 Jan., 2024 , organized by “The Alumni Association of Jamia Hamdard (TAAJH)” and SPER, Jamia Hamdard. Venue: Cricket Ground, Jamia Hamdard. Match played between Teachers vs Alumni.

• One day Cricket Match of Alumni on 20^th  July, 2024, organized by “The Alumni Association of Jamia Hamdard (TAAJH)”. Venue: Cricket Ground, Jamia Hamdard. Match played between Teachers vs Alumni.

• Several Eminent alumni  acted as resource persons (sessions, donations etc) at  27^th Convention of Indian Society of Pharmacognosy and International Conference, on 4-5^th Oct., 2024, at Convention Centre, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi.

• Annual Alumni Meet  of TAAJH, Riyadh (KSA) Chapter on 25^th  Oct., 2024. 

 

 

Other Activities of Alumni

 

• An alumni of Jamia Hamdard, Prof. Sanjay Garg (M.Pharm from SPER, Jamia Hamdard) instituted Sanjay-Alka Garg Award every year to the topper of M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics (Rs.20,000/- per year) in November-December 2018. He also provided four month free research training in his lab in Australia for a PhD scholar in Pharmaceutics from Jamia Hamdard. Prof. Sanjay Garg is Director, Centre for Pharmaceutical Innovation and Development (CPID), Co-Director, China Australia Centre for Health Science Research (CACHSR), Adelaide, Australia.

• Special Alumni Lecture- Dr. Arshad Khuroo, alumni of Jamia Hamdard delivered a lecture on ‘Bioequivalence’ on 26^th April, 2019 at Pharmaceutics Seminar Room, SPER, coordinated by Prof. Sanjula Baboota and Dr.Sheheryar under the aegis of TAAJH. Dr.Arshad Khuro is Vice President, Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacokineic Division at SUN Pharma, Gurgaon.

• Chai with Alumni- Distinguished Alumni Lecture- Dr. Fuzail Ahmed (Physiotherapy), an alumni of Jamia Hamdard delivered a lecture on ‘Curriculum Development’ on 5^th July,2019, organized by Department of Rehabilitation Sciences  (School of Nursing Sciences and Allied Health, Jamia Hamdard) at Smart Class Room, Ground Floor, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Jamia Hamdard, under the aegis of TAAJH. Dr. Fuzail Ahmed is Head (QA), College of Applied Medical Sciences, and Majmaah University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

• Seven Distinguished Alumni of Jamia Hamdard, delivered lectures on various study, research and job options after graduation in SUMER School, 2019 from  10^th July 2019 - 23^rd July 2019 organized by SPER at Smart Class Room, Ground Floor, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Jamia Hamdard, under the aegis of TAAJH

• Special Alumni Lecture- Dr. Mohd. Shahid, alumni of Jamia Hamdard (B.Pharm, M.Pharm and PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from Jamia Hamdard) delivered a lecture on “Browning- Keeps Obesity At Bay” on 29^th July, 2019 organized by School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Jamia Hamdard at Auditorium, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Jamia Hamdard under the aegis of TAAJH. Dr. Mohd. Shahid is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at the Chicago State University College of Pharmacy and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston (CSU-COP).

• Chai with Alumni- Distinguished Alumni Lecture- Prof. Sanjay Garg, an alumnus of SPER, Jamia Hamdard visited and delivered a lecture on ‘New Innovation in Research’ on 24^th September 2019 under the aegis of TAAJH at Auditorium, First Floor, SPER building, Jamia Hamdard. Prof. Sanjay Garg also interacted with M.Pharm and PhD research scholars and motivated them. Prof. Sanjay Garg is Director, Cantre for Pharmaceutical Innovation and Development (CPID), Co-Director, China Australia Centre for Health Science Research (CACHSR), Adelaide, Australia.

• An alumni of Jamia Hamdard, Ms. Jeena Pradeep (Master in Nursing, Pediatrics-2013, Jamia Hamdard) delivered a session on ‘Developing Your Own Project’ at two days workshop on ‘Quality Improvement For Optimizing Maternal And Neonatal Care’ on 30^th September – 1^st October 2019 organized by Rufaida College of Nursing, School of Nursing Sciences and Allied Health, Jamia Hamdard (Deemed to be University).

• Pharma-e-Guftgu - During the celebration of World Pharmacist Day, alumni Mr.Naveen Kalra interacted with students and staff members in Pharma-e-guftgu program held at Auditorium, SPER, and Jamia Hamdard on 1^st October 2019. Mr. Naveen Kalra (B.Pharm from SPER, Jamia Hamdard 1995) is a Market Entrepreneur, based in Delhi. (Mobile No:  9811115992, 9911115992). Ms. Anju Vaishnava (passed PGDPRA in 2006 from Jamia Hamdard), presently working in Roche Pharm Laboratory, also participated in this event.

• Chai With Alumni- Mr.Ehtisham-ul-Haque (B.Pharm 1997, M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics in 1999 from SPER, Jamia Hamdard) delivered a lecture on ‘Immigration, Licensing and Registration Procedure of Hospital and Community Pharmacists in Canada’ on 17^th October 2019 at Auditorium, SPER building, Jamia Hamdard. Mr.Ehtisham-ul-Haque is presently working as Clinical Pharmacist at Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Phone no- +1 or 001-403-890-9375, Email- ehtisham321@gmail.com.

• Five Alumni of Jamia Hamdard visited and interacted with research scholars and staff members at SPER, Jamia Hamdard on 28^th October 2019. • Introductory meet of a Group of Alumni of School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, on 1^st Jan., 2020, at Meeting Room, Scholar House, Jamia hamdard, New Delhi-62  for discussing various activities in Jamia Hamdard related to research and connectivity eg Academia-Industry Networking, Alumni-Alumni Networking etc.. This meet was attended by a number of alumni eg Abrar M. khan, Ahmad Nawaz Khan, Mohammad Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Wasif Khan, Mohd. Amir Mirza, Nabeen Anwar, Shazli Ahmed Khan, Syed Jalal Qamar Rahman, Syed Zeyaul Abrar hussain, Vibhu Agnihotri, Zeenat Iqbal etc.

• Lecture on “Age Group Discussion and Personal Interview” on 12^th Dec.,2021, by Mr. Shubham Saxena (International Marketing Manager at AIMIL pharmaceuticals Pvt. • Career Manthan-“Career Prospects in Pharmacovigilance” on 27^th May, 2022, by Dr. Ankur Arora, (Senior General Manager, Pharmacovigilance, Sun Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Organized by  TAAJH-  Chai with Alumni, Jamia Hamdard Alumni Committee and SPER.

• Alumni-Prof. Naushad Khan Gilzhai from USA was resource person through online mode and another alumni Prof Asgar Ali(President- TAAJH) acted as Chairperson at- International Conference on Nanotechnology & Drug Delivery (ICNDD-23), on 09-10th Feb., 2023, Organised by Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (SPER), Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi., at Convention Centre, JH.

• Alumni-Prof. Naushad Khan Gilzhai from USA visited the Jamia Hamdard on 22 Feb., 2023. He interacted with several faculty members, students and research scholars. He completed his M.Pharm from Jamia Hamdard in1987 and PhD from Germany.

• Hakeem Abdul Hameed Memorial Lectures on 18th March, 2023, Organized by Support Society(2S) of alumni members in association of “The Alumni Association of Jamia Hamdard (TAAJH)”. Venue: Hamdard Archives Auditorium.

• 22. Alumni- Dr. Amulya Kumar Panda, Associate Director, Panacea Biotech visited Jamia Hamdard in an Interactive Session on 4^th Jan, 2024, related to career in Biotechnology and Pharma sector

• Different Alumni were resource persons in Pharma Anveshan 2024, held  on 6^th  March, 2024 at Jamia Hamdard, e.g. Dr. Prakash Chandra Bhatt- Founder ,Billion , Cheers & Fermentis Life Sciences; Dr. Sanchit Sharma,- Director, Ayouthveda, Aimil Pharmaceuticals; Mr. Abdullah, Research Scientist, Sun Pharma; Mr. Imran, Research Scientist, Sun Pharma. They delivered talk,  interacted with students/teachers and participated in panel discussion on Modernization of unani medicine.

• Alumni- Professor Shweta Jaypee Institute of Information Technology visited Jamia Hamdard in an Interactive Session on 23 April, 2024, related to-“ Understanding patent Scenario in Pharma Sector via relevant case studies.”

• Career Manthan- Chai with Alumni Workshop on Review Writing, on 18^th August 2024, SPER Auditorium, Jamia Hamdard, Presenting Alumni- Dr. Ashif Iqubal, Area Medical Advisor at Pfizer  Oncology, PAN India. This workshop was organized in collaboration with NFPS and sponsored by Dept. of Biology , SPER and TAAJH, Jamia Hamdard.
